	Home > People People Michael R. Malec McKenna founded the practice that is now McKenna McGovern Burkhart in 1976. Anne K. McGovern Burkhart and Patrick N. Burkhart were Michael’s friends and business associates for over 15 years, and continued the Michael’s practice after his untimely passing. Mr. Burkhart has been involved in intellectual property law for over twenty years. A former patent examiner, he has also worked in a large patent firm, served as chief patent counsel for international corporations, and has served a diverse array of clients in private practice. Mrs. Burkhart’s undergraduate degree is in physics, and she has a wealth of experience in research institutions, major intellectual property law firm, and in private practice. Mrs. Burkhart’s combination of practical experience and technical expertise enables her to understand the needs of businesses and individuals in protecting their ideas. Together, Anne and Patrick work to respond to client inquiries and needs. Our office also has intellectual property associates throughout the United States and abroad. We coordinate the services of these U.S. and international intellectual property specialists. We also work with numerous experienced professionals, including patent and trademark searchers, technical artists, graphic designers, industrial designers, and corporate and tax attorneys.
